The Santos-Dumont reference 1577 is a particularly elegant expression of Cartier’s historic square wristwatch, pairing the familiar exposed bezel screws with the slimmer proportions of the Santos-Dumont line. Measuring 23 x 31mm, its compact yellow gold case reflects the restrained scale Cartier favoured for the model during this period, while the two-hand layout keeps the original design remarkably clean.

Inside is the manually wound calibre 021, an ultra-thin movement that helps give the 1577 its notably slender profile. Rather than adding complication, Cartier used the movement to preserve what matters most to the Santos-Dumont: a thin case, simple display and the distinctive geometry that has defined the design since its early twentieth-century origins.

1996 dated, this vintage example is presented in particularly well-preserved condition for its age, with only light signs of wear and polishing. Offered as a complete set with its original Cartier box, booklet and additional burgandy strap.
