The Datejust has always been a watch shaped as much by proportion as specification, and the Rolex 278274-0034 gets that balance particularly right. At 31mm, it has the compact dimensions traditionally associated with the collection, while the blue dial and fluted white gold bezel give it far more presence than the size might suggest.

Blue works particularly well here. Depending on the light, the dial moves between rich navy and brighter metallic tones, with Roman numeral hour markers bringing a more classical edge to the design. The Jubilee bracelet adds another layer of detail, its smaller links catching the light differently to the case and making the entire watch feel more intricate without relying on diamonds or additional decoration.

Rolex equips the 278274-0034 with the automatic calibre 2236, offering approximately 55 hours of power reserve. The date remains at three o'clock beneath the Cyclops lens, preserving the functionality that has been part of the Datejust's identity since 1945.
