First introduced in 1953 under Blancpain’s then CEO Jean-Jacques Fiechter, himself a diver, the Fifty Fathoms is widely regarded as the original modern dive watch. It set the blueprint: exceptional legibility, a secure rotating bezel, and true underwater reliability. While others followed, Blancpain was already there, defining the category.

Today, it remains something of a connoisseur’s choice. Less pervasive and more considered, it's the kind of dive watch those in the know tend to gravitate towards.
