Grand Seiko has a way of doing things differently, and the SLGH009G is a clear example of that. Created as a celebration piece for the brand’s 55th anniversary, it sits within the Evolution 9 collection, building on Grand Seiko’s core principles with a sharper, more refined approach to case design and wearability. At 40mm, it wears comfortably with a strong, well-judged presence on the wrist.

The blue dial is where this piece stands apart. Rich in tone and heavily textured, it shifts constantly in changing light, subtle from a distance, more detailed the closer you look. Zaratsu polished surfaces meet precise brushing across the case, giving it that unmistakable Grand Seiko finish. Inside, the high beat 9SA5 movement delivers impressive accuracy and a level of engineering that speaks for itself.

It’s a watch that doesn’t rely on noise. Everything is well executed, from the dial through to the movement, coming together in a way that feels precise and easy to wear day to day.
