The Daytona is easily one of Rolex’s most iconic creations, rooted in the world of motorsport and named after Daytona Beach in Florida, once a hub for land speed records. While Rolex had been producing chronographs since the 1950s, it wasn’t until 1963 that the Daytona name officially appeared, marking the beginning of what would become one of the most celebrated chronograph lines ever made.

As the collection has evolved, Rolex has remained careful not to lose what made it special in the first place. The latest 126500LN, introduced in 2023, is a perfect example of that approach. At a glance, it feels familiar, but look closer and the refinements start to show. A more sculpted case, subtle dial updates, and an upgraded movement all work together to sharpen the watch without changing its identity.

It is evolution, not revolution, in the way only Rolex seems to manage.
