The distinctive slate dial with green outlined Roman numerals has given the Rolex Datejust its unofficial “Wimbledon” nickname, a nod to the tennis championships with which Rolex has been associated since 1978. Unlike a conventional Roman numeral dial, the contrasting green outlines bring an unexpected sporting influence to one of Rolex’s most established designs. The single luminous marker at 9 o’clock adds another unusual detail to this recognisable configuration. 

Reference 126334 pairs this dial with Rolex’s White Rolesor construction, combining an Oystersteel case with an 18 ct white gold fluted bezel. Originally developed as a functional feature of the Oyster case, the fluting has since become a signature of the Datejust. The five-link Jubilee bracelet, created for the original Datejust in 1945, reinforces the connection to the collection’s heritage.
