The Rolex GMT-Master II 116710LN occupies a unique place in the model’s history. Introduced in 2007, it was the first GMT-Master II to feature Rolex’s scratch-resistant black Cerachrom bezel, marking the start of the modern ceramic GMT era.
Unlike the colourful references that followed, the 116710LN remains clean, understated and highly versatile. The black bezel and gloss black dial give the watch a more discreet character than a Pepsi or Batman, making it one of the easiest GMT-Master II references to wear every day. The green 24-hour hand and matching GMT-Master II text add a subtle point of contrast, nodding to the model’s travel function without dominating the design.
Powered by Rolex’s Calibre 3186, the watch offers an independently adjustable local hour hand, allowing for easy time zone changes when travelling. Paired with the solid-link Oyster bracelet, it delivers the durability and practicality expected of a modern Rolex sports watch.
Now discontinued, the 116710LN stands as the final all-black bezel GMT-Master II reference before Rolex moved its focus towards bi-colour Cerachrom bezels. Combining the ceramic bezel, Maxi case and Calibre 3186, it has become increasingly appreciated as a transitional modern Rolex with a clear place in the GMT-Master II lineage.
Our 2017 example is presented in excellent condition, with light signs of wear and no signs of polishing. The watch comes complete with its 2017 dated warranty card, tags, booklets and original Rolex box.
