Some watch designs belong in the past. Others deserve to be worn for another generation. The Vacheron Constantin Historiques 2026 1100S/000G-H175 falls firmly into the latter, reviving the reference 6073 of 1955 with the same distinctive design language that made the original so enduring.

The 36.5mm white gold case is defined by its sculptural teardrop lugs, flowing seamlessly from the case rather than simply attaching to it. They're complemented by a stepped bezel and a silver-toned dial that favours depth over decoration. Applied faceted hour markers, dauphine hands and a recessed small seconds display create subtle layers, giving the watch a richness that's easy to appreciate the longer you spend with it.

Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the manually wound calibre 4400 AS is developed and manufactured entirely in-house. Carrying the Hallmark of Geneva, it offers approximately 65 hours of power reserve while showcasing the meticulous finishing expected from one of Switzerland's oldest continuously operating watch manufactures.

The Historiques 2026 doesn't rely on nostalgia to justify its place in Vacheron Constantin's collection. It earns it by reminding us that exceptional design doesn't become outdated. When every element is considered, from the architecture of the case to the balance of the dial, there's very little left to improve.
