The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726A demonstrates just how naturally the Nautilus accommodates complication. Introduced in 2010 as the first stainless steel Nautilus to feature Patek Philippe's Annual Calendar, it expanded the collection without changing the qualities that made the Nautilus one of the most recognisable sports watches ever created.

The black embossed dial gives this reference a more understated character than the later blue version. Its horizontal pattern adds depth beneath the Annual Calendar displays, while the moonphase and 24-hour indication are arranged with the clarity expected from Patek Philippe. There is a surprising amount of information on the dial, yet it remains composed and remarkably easy to read.

Fitted to a black leather strap, the 5726A takes on a different character to the bracelet models. It feels slightly more reserved, bringing the focus towards the dial and its complications while retaining the unmistakable silhouette of the Nautilus. The result is a watch that sits comfortably between sports watch and classic complication, without feeling entirely like either.

Inside sits Patek Philippe's calibre 324 S QA LU 24H/303, an automatic movement combining the Annual Calendar, moonphase and 24-hour indication. Requiring adjustment only once a year at the end of February, the Annual Calendar remains one of the manufacture's most practical complications, bringing everyday usability to one of its most recognisable modern references.

Our 2023 5726A is offered in unworn condition, with no signs of wear or polishing. The watch is supplied as a complete set with booklets and original Patek Philippe wooden box.
