The Patek Philippe Complications 5328G-001 draws its design from the Calatrava while introducing one of the manufacture's most practical complications. Although presented within Patek Philippe's Complications collection, its clean proportions, round white gold case and understated layout remain unmistakably Calatrava in character. The result is a watch that combines classical design with an eight-day power reserve intended for everyday use.

That long reserve shapes the dial. A power reserve indicator sits at 12 o'clock, while the lower display combines the instantaneous day aperture, pointer date and small seconds into a single, balanced composition. The textured blue dial fades to a black-gradient rim and is complemented by applied white gold Arabic numerals and syringe hands with luminescent coating.

Power comes from the manually wound calibre 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J. Twin barrels provide a minimum power reserve of 192 hours, while instantaneous mechanisms ensure the day and date change together precisely at midnight. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement also incorporates Patek Philippe's Pulsomax escapement and Spiromax balance spring.

The 5328G-001 demonstrates that practicality can be every bit as impressive as mechanical complexity. By extending the autonomy of a manually wound movement to eight days, Patek Philippe has created a watch that asks less of its owner while delivering everything expected of a modern Calatrava.
